Simply put, this event takes months of planning and is very costly to run. In an area of this size, we feel one event per year provides ample opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste, thus keeping it out of the landfill. If you miss the event, store your materials safely at home until the next event, usually held each spring in May. Josephine County also holds a once a year event in the fall, usually September, that Jackson County residents are welcome to attend. Contact Southern Oregon Sanitation for more information.
Why is there only one household hazardous waste event per year?
